Flight Instructor Course FI(A)
Course objective
The course is designed for the applicant to be given adequate training in ground and flying instructional techniques based upon established teaching methods.
On successful completion of the course and final test the applicant may be issued with a FI(A) rating permitting the holder to give flight training appropriate to the issue of a PPL(A) or a CPL(A) or a single-engine class rating and a night qualification.
Entry requirements
- An applicant for a flight instructor course should be at least 18 years of age.
- The applicant must hold a CPL(A) or ATPL(A).
- The applicant is to have completed at least 200 hours flying time, of which at least 100 hours as pilot in command and 30 hours as a pilot of single-engine piston powered airplanes, of which at least 5 hours must have been completed within the six months period before the course.
- The applicant is to have completed at least 10 hours IFR, of which max. 5 hours in FNPT II or FFS.
- The applicant shall have passed a specific pre-entry flight test at the school within the six months preceding the start of the course.
- The applicant should hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.
Theoretical knowledge instruction
Ground training is performed by qualified, approved by the Civil Aviation Administration and ATO “VAA” ground instructors. Theoretical courses are held at ATO "VAA" class, using textbooks, Course materials, posters, aircraft diagrams, computer training programs, materials prepared by ground and flight instructors.
